Karlsruhe: Welcome

How to use trams and buses

In the Karlsruhe region, the fee schedule of the Karlsruher Verkehrsverbund (KVV) applies for all city trains, trams, regional trains and bus lines. One ticket covers all means of public transport. Tickets are available from ticket machines at stops, at the ticket offices at Marktplatz, at the main station and at Europaplatz. On the city trains, trams or buses, tickets can either be purchased at the ticket machine or, if no ticket machine is available, from the operator. Please note: The ticket machines on city trains, trams and buses do not accept bills. If the ticket contains a blank area for validation, the ticket must be validated in the yellow ticket validation machines before the beginning of the trip. Many machines, however, issue already validated tickets.
